FAQ
What is included in Free?
A 1-day trial of upload, scholarly search, PDF fetch, Zotero, citation refresh, OCR, and research chat. After that: the editor, 10 AI actions this month, your existing documents and library PDFs, and export of your own manuscript. New uploads, imports, search, and chat are then on Pro and Ultimate.
What do Pro and Ultimate add?
Research after the 1-day trial: upload, scholarly search, PDF fetch, Zotero, citation refresh, re-extract/OCR, research chat, related papers, and camera-ready. You already keep the editor, existing library, and manuscript export on Free. Pro includes 300 AI actions this month. Ultimate drops the action count and uses a $25/mo platform fair-use ceiling instead.
Is Ultimate unlimited AI?
No. There is no Free/Pro-style monthly or daily action count, but Ultimate is not unlimited: a platform fair-use ceiling of $25 of AI spend per month stops abuse and runaway use. That is the product meter for Ultimate, not a second published action count.
How do I get Pro during the beta?
This is a manually approved beta — there is no customer card checkout. Pro is priced at $19 / month, or $12 / month billed yearly ($144 once). Ultimate is $49 / month, or $28 / month billed yearly ($336 once). Use Request Pro access and we grant Pro by hand. Ultimate is not open yet — use Tell me when Ultimate opens.
What happens when Free or Pro runs out of AI actions?
You keep writing the draft and can still export your manuscript. AI pauses until the 1st, or you move to a plan with more. After the 1-day trial, Free cannot chat, upload, or search. Ultimate has no action count; the $25/mo fair-use ceiling is the bound.
Are drafts used to train models?
No. Your text is processed only to produce the output you asked for.
