About Rivul

What Rivul does

Rivul is a research workspace for students, educators, researchers, scientists, and anyone who writes from sources.

Research often gets split across browser tabs, PDF folders, a reference manager, and a separate document. After enough reading and revision, it can become difficult to see which source supports a sentence. Rivul keeps those parts of the work together.

Find papers and bring your own sources

Search more than 300 million scholarly works, save useful results, or add your own PDFs. Your library stays beside the draft, so you can return to a paper or passage while you write.

Write with help from your library

Turn on autocomplete and pause while writing. When your library contains usable text, Rivul looks for relevant passages before suggesting a continuation. Press Tab to accept it or Esc to dismiss it. You remain in control of every change.

A generated sentence is not automatically a citation. Rivul creates a citation only when a real source record is attached and you accept it.

Keep citations connected

Citations use scholarly metadata and stay linked to their source record. Numbering updates as the manuscript changes, and the bibliography remains synchronized with the citations in the text.

Check a claim against its cited passage

Claim checking compares the words in a sentence with the passage being cited. It can show where wording needs qualification before the work is shared. It does not decide whether a scientific claim is true, so the writer still reads and judges the source.

Finish in the same workspace

Rivul also supports research chat, literature analysis, tracked revisions, and manuscript export. The aim is simple: move from finding a paper to a finished, cited document without losing the path back to the source.

Follow the full workflow in research without losing the evidence, or review Rivul's data sources to understand where scholarly records come from.
